Our family history
Berma Pettigrew and Earnest Tole
Our family’s story begins in Decaturville, Tennessee, in the 1910s, when Berma Pettigrew married Earnest Tole. From that marriage grew the family that still gathers every year. More than a hundred years later, we come together to remember them and to carry their name forward together.
Our mission
To honor the legacy of our ancestors by bringing the family together each year in love, unity, and celebration.
The ten family lines
Our family grew into ten lines, and the 2010 reunion book tells the story of each one: Burmah, Rayburn, Louis, Harry, Dan, Mitchell, Lonnie, Irene, Inez, Barney. Find your line, and find your people.
Passing down our stories
Some of our best history lives in the people who remember it. We are gathering the stories of our elders, in their own voices, so the next generation can hear where they come from. If you have a story, a photo, or a name we should not lose, bring it to the reunion or send it to [email protected].
